About National Prevention Week

Each year during the second week of May, SAMHSA partners with dedicated individuals, communities, and organizations to celebrate the possibilities and brighter futures that exist thanks to the ongoing work of substance use and misuse prevention and mental health promotion. National Prevention Week promotes the world we want to see—where prevention helps keep people and communities healthy and safe.
