Disaster Response Template Toolkit
This Disaster Response Template Toolkit for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Disaster Technical Assistance Center (DTAC) features a program administration section for managers and supervisors, as well as public education materials that designated staff in disaster behavioral health response programs can use to create resources for reaching people affected by a disaster.
The "Program Administration" section includes those program administrative components that should be found within the management plan. Disaster behavioral health response program supervisors and leadership can use this section to develop a comprehensive behavioral health response program for any disaster, large or small.
The "Printed Materials" and "Messaging through Other Media" sections include print materials, websites and other social media, audio and video files, and multimedia materials that can be used by disaster behavioral health programs for outreach, psychoeducation, and recovery news for disaster-affected communities. Many of the links contain sample materials and online tools that have been used in previous disaster situations across the country. The templates can also be adapted for use in any community’s program, as desired.
